Trick or Treat Safety Tips
· Be sure your child’s costume is flame retardant and warn him/her to avoid open flames.
· Be sure the child’s costume is visible at night.
· Children should be able to see everything around them. Make sure the eye holes in their masks are wide enough. Or, better yet,
paint their face using kid-friendly, glow-in-the-dark face paint.
· Be sure to have the child carry a flashlight or glow stick at all times.
· Have your children cross the street only at well-lit crosswalks and intersections.
· Tell your children not to eat any candy until you can check it for tampering.
· If children are trick or treating alone, remind them to never enter a stranger’s home and to
stay outside the door.
Have a safe and happy Halloween!
