Re-Development Starts at Dr. Pepper
On January 26, Centerpoint Properties held a “Demolition Kick Off” at the Dr. Pepper-Snapple bottling plant. Plans call for the demolition of part of the existing building and reconfiguring and construction of the remainder of the building resulting in a completed structure of 888,385 square feet featuring new offices, conference rooms, break room fitness center as well as warehouse and site improvement that will include 45 new dock positions, and a new truck court yard with 110 trailer parking positions.
As you may remember, this location housed the Automatic Electric Company until the early 1990’s. The portion of the building which is being demolished, contained obsolete office space and some old manufacturing and warehouse area. The reconfigured building will enhance efficiency at Dr. Pepper-Snapple. Most importantly, these improvements will keep Dr. Pepper-Snapple in Northlake.
Plans also include the construction of a separate 500,000 square foot industrial building as well. We are looking forward to the successful completion of the re-development which will keep Northlake a premier location for business as well as jobs.
